Epsom Methodist Church
The brass plaque shown below could, for many years, be seen on a wall in Epsom Methodist church.
It was placed there by the congregation of the time, to commemorate three members of their number who had fought and died in the Great War.
Some 80 or so years later, the present congregation decided that it no longer suited their church. As a result the plaque has been removed and given to the Borough museum in Bourne Hall.
That a modern congregation should decide to show such disrespect to the fallen is most regrettable.
