Details of 1911 Proprietor Born 1840 Orpington, Kent. Married 1869 Harriet Johnson (c.1845-1913).

Children - Hubert Harry (1875-1943, married Elizabeth Rebecca Brightman), Charles Spurgeon (1877, married Mercy Ellen Eggar), George Stevenson (1881-1971, married Emily Hoskin), Violet (c. 1885). There were four other children, all of whom had died by 1911 and probably before 1891.

Reuben began as a gardener, but by 1891 he had become a photographic agent, living in Rosebery Cottages, Epsom (he is somewhat elusive in a couple of censuses). In about 1895 he became caretaker of the National School in West Street and continued in that role until he died in 1921.

Details of building, where known Odd numbers 1-7 West Street (south side) were apparently purpose-built as shops in 1895.
